here are some tool photos. you do not need the glass snapper AND the modified tile plier. the glass snapper does seem to make a cleaner break, but does not work on the smallest pieces. you will need a modified tile plier, however, if you want to cut very small pieces. so, you figure out what tool(s) you need. the glass snapper is very inexpensive, and the modified tile plier should not cost you more than $10 to put together.

here are instructions for scoring and cutting 3/4" | 2cm square tiles. (click on the grid thumbnail for the full instructions.) previously, i have posted instructions for how to score and cut sheets of glass into smaller squares. look under the tag instruction. you can buy mirror and van gogh glass in sheets, but i prefer to buy 3/4" and 1/2" tiles, and then cut them into the smaller pieces.
for the breaking, i use a tool which i have modified. so far, this is the only tool that i have found that will work effectively on the smallest pieces. a glass snapper tool will work for the bigger pieces, but i have not had much luck with it on the smaller ones. on my next posts, i will talk more about these 2 tools, and show you how you can make a modified tool for yourself, if you are interested.
