smalti, 24kt mosaic gold, contorno, millefiore, glass, crystal and semi-precious beads

finally finished this one! i reworked a few areas that i was not happy with. i really like the soft wavy gold in the background.

i wanted to do three things with this piece: one was to get away from my more linear habits... and to loosen up my precise style a bit; another was to cultivate more skill with the hammer and hardie, so i restricted myself to those tools for the smalti cutting; and finally, to work on some shading and blending... which do not at all come naturally to me.
