etude is an exploration in visually expressing a classical music form. being an exercise, or study, etude’s subject is colored gold and its subtle shading quality. all elements of this composition are designed to support and/or highlight the gold. like many short forms, this etude is in an aba form, with a variance in the final a section as the theme goes from blue to turquoise, or from minor to major. the monochromatic horizontal bead strip, though intricate (50 beads per linear inch), does not challenge the gold, but provides balance and contrast.
