i was all set up to use this beautiful brown-red marble last month for october, but when i got ready to start on it, it just did not feel right to me. so, i put everything away and started over with the gold for october.

so when November came around, the brown-red marble was calling out to me... and this time it felt right. it is such a pretty marble, that looks brownish in some light, and wine red in other light.

in its more brownish personality, it captures those native oak leaves that have gone from golden brown to that darker burnt kind of brown. Its wine red personality reminds me of deep red velvet... which brings back holiday memories.

a friend gave me the beautiful round garnet beads, that were from a family necklace. they are the prettiest garnets i have ever seen... soft wine colored instead of the black-red that i often see. and i just love garnets!
